Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was the leading figure of the pop art movement. He is famously known for his consumerist imagery, showing paintings, silkscreens and sculpture reproductions of the packaging and logos of brands such as Kellogg’s corn flakes, Brillo soap pads, Campbell’s tomato soup and Heinz ketchup, as well as his silkscreens of repetitive portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson and Elvis, all-in bright and colourful combinations, instantly recognisable as a Warhol art piece.
